Publishers Signal Major Increase in Prices of Private School Textbooks

Reason Behind the Price Hike

Publishers said the increase has become unavoidable after authorities raised NOC and license renewal fees to unprecedented levels.

• NOC license fee has been increased from Rs. 20,000 to Rs. 150,000

• License renewal fee has jumped from Rs. 5,000 to Rs. 75,000

Publishers warned that absorbing these additional costs is no longer possible without raising book prices.
