PMD Forecast: Cold and Dry Weather to Persist Across Most of Pakistan

According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), cold and dry weather is expected to prevail across most parts of the country, while very cold conditions will continue in hilly and mountainous regions.

However, partly cloudy skies are expected in Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir, and adjoining areas, with a chance of light rain or light snowfall at isolated locations. Meanwhile, moderate to dense fog is likely to affect Punjab, upper Sindh, and plain areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Tuesday Weather Outlook

The PMD stated that Islamabad and surrounding areas will experience cold and dry weather, with fog or mist possible during morning hours.

In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, most districts will remain cold and dry, while very cold conditions are expected in hilly areas. Moderate to dense fog is likely during morning and night hours in Peshawar, Mardan, Nowshera, Charsadda, Swabi, Bannu, Karak, Lakki Marwat, Dera Ismail Khan, and nearby areas.

Punjab Weather Conditions

Most districts of Punjab will experience cold and dry weather, while very cold conditions are expected in Murree, Galiyat, and surrounding regions.

Moderate to dense fog is likely in:
Sialkot, Narowal, Rawalpindi, Attock, Jhelum, Chakwal, Gujranwala, Gujrat, Lahore, Sheikhupura, Okara, Pakpattan, Kasur, Sahiwal, Khanewal, Faisalabad, Jhang, Mianwali, Layyah, Bhakkar, Noorpur Thal, Dera Ghazi Khan, Rajanpur, Shorkot, Multan, Kot Addu, Bahawalnagar, Khanpur, Bahawalpur, and Rahim Yar Khan.
Some areas of the Potohar region may also experience morning mist.

Balochistan and Sindh

In Balochistan, most districts will remain cold and dry, while very cold weather is expected in northern parts. Fog during morning hours is likely in Dera Bugti, Kohlu, Dera Murad Jamali, Jaffarabad, Nasirabad, Jhal Magsi, Sibi, and surrounding areas.

In Sindh, most districts will experience cold and dry weather, with moderate to dense fog expected in Sukkur, Rohri, Shikarpur, Kashmore, Shaheed Benazirabad, Dadu, Larkana, Tando Jam, Mohenjo-daro, and nearby areas.

Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan

Very cold and dry weather is expected to persist in Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan, with a possibility of light snowfall at isolated locations.
