The Balochistan government has announced a major relief initiative aimed at making electric bikes affordable for students, working women, government employees, and the general public.
The decision was taken during the 21st provincial cabinet meeting, chaired by Chief Minister Balochistan Mir Sarfraz Bugti. The cabinet also expressed gratitude to the Prime Minister for launching key communication and education projects in the province.

30% Subsidy on Electric Bikes
According to the cabinet’s decision, students, working women, and government employees will be provided electric bikes on a 30 percent subsidy. Meanwhile, ordinary citizens will also be able to purchase electric bikes through easy installment plans.
Officials confirmed that the scheme will be implemented under a bank financing model, making eco-friendly transport accessible to a wider population.
Health Insurance for Government Employees
During the meeting, it was revealed that the provincial government spends Rs 6 to 7 billion annually on the medical treatment of nearly 250,000 government employees.
To address this, the cabinet approved the introduction of a Health Insurance Scheme for government employees. It also decided to conduct audits of advance medical payments and the Public Endowment Fund to improve transparency and financial management.
The initiatives are being seen as a step toward economic relief, sustainable transport, and improved welfare policies in Balochistan.
