The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has taken a major step to ease the vehicle buying and selling process by introducing online biometric verification for Sindh-registered vehicles through the Pak-ID mobile application.

This initiative has been launched in collaboration with the Sindh government, aiming to reduce inconvenience, prevent fraud, and simplify the vehicle ownership transfer process for citizens.

Biometric Verification Now Available from Home

According to a NADRA spokesperson, citizens can now complete biometric verification from home using the Pak-ID app. After successful verification, buyers and sellers can proceed with the remaining vehicle transfer formalities at the relevant excise office.

Previously, biometric verification was mandatory through NADRA Registration Centers or e-Sahulat centers, often causing delays and overcrowding. The new digital facility significantly cuts down processing time.

Why This Step Matters

The Sindh Excise and Taxation Department had already made biometric verification compulsory for vehicle and motorcycle ownership transfer to curb:

  • Fraud and impersonation

  • Illegal transfers

  • Legal disputes

With NADRA’s Pak-ID integration, the process has become more transparent, secure, and citizen-friendly.
