All 10 Bidders Confirmed for New PSL Teams Ahead of Historic Auction

As the Pakistan Super League (PSL) moves toward a historic expansion from six to eight franchises, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has officially confirmed the 10 groups qualified to participate in the bidding process for two new team licenses.

The highly anticipated auction is scheduled for January 8 at the Jinnah Convention Centre in Islamabad. The two successful bidders will enter the league from PSL 11, which will run from March 26 to May 3, 2026.

Below are the 10 bidders cleared by the PCB for the next stage:

1. Inverex (Renewable Energy)

Inverex Solar Energy, a prominent Pakistani renewable energy company, is the first confirmed bidder. With prior involvement in PSL sponsorships, the firm aims to convert its brand association into franchise ownership.

2. OZ Group / OZI Developers (Real Estate)

Chaired by Hamza Majeed, OZ Group operates in real estate development and has openly shown interest in sports and entertainment investments.

3. VGO TEL (Technology)

Karachi-based VGO TEL, led by CEO Naveed Gaba, represents growing interest from Pakistan’s mobile technology sector in PSL’s commercial ecosystem.

4. Jazz (Telecom)

Telecom giant Jazz, already a key sponsor and strategic partner of PSL, has officially entered the bidding race — signaling strong confidence from one of Pakistan’s largest corporations.

5. DSM Tareen Group (Business & Sports)

Led by Ali Khan Tareen, former owner of Multan Sultans, the Tareen Group is seeking a return to PSL ownership after exiting the franchise earlier.

6. i2c (Fintech)

Global fintech company i2c, founded by US-based Pakistani entrepreneur Aamir Waien, brings international investment interest to the PSL expansion.

7. Walee Tech (Media & Fintech)

Walee Tech, operating in digital media and fintech, is looking to leverage PSL’s massive audience for broader digital engagement.

8. Prism Developers + Exchange ON (Property & Tech)

This joint bid combines property development expertise with real estate-technology ambitions, highlighting cross-sector confidence in PSL.

9. Kingsmen Group (Investments)

An investment firm, Kingsmen Group views PSL franchise ownership as a long-term asset within Pakistan’s growing T20 cricket economy.

10. Aim Next Inc (Tech & Innovation)

Aim Next Inc completes the list, representing the tech and innovation sector increasingly turning to sports branding and ownership.

Home Cities for New Teams

The successful bidders will be allowed to select from a PCB-approved list of potential home cities, including:

  • Rawalpindi

  • Faisalabad

  • Hyderabad

  • Sialkot

  • Muzaffarabad

  • Gilgit
