The Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) has made a major announcement for deserving families, introducing a free SIM card facility aimed at improving transparency and efficiency in financial assistance.

According to a BISP spokesperson, eligible individuals can avail this facility by visiting their nearest BISP camp site or office with their original CNIC and a mobile phone. After initial screening, those who qualify will be issued a token, allowing them to proceed to the SIM issuance counter.

Biometric Verification & Instant SIM Activation

Once at the counter, beneficiaries will undergo biometric verification. Upon successful verification, the SIM card will be activated immediately, ensuring quick access to official BISP communications and services.

BISP has strictly instructed beneficiaries to:

  • Keep the SIM for personal use only

  • Not share the SIM with anyone else

  • Keep the SIM switched on at all times to receive important updates and payment-related messages

Social Protection Wallet Explained

BISP Chairperson Senator Rubina Khalid stated that the introduction of the Social Protection Wallet is a key step toward making the payment system more transparent, secure, and user-friendly.

She confirmed that the distribution of free SIM cards to registered women has already begun, and in the future, all financial assistance will be transferred through this digital system.

Free SIM – No Charges Involved

Senator Rubina Khalid made it clear that the SIM card is completely free, and beneficiaries should not pay any amount to anyone for receiving it. She urged people to report any illegal demands or fraudulent activity immediately.

This initiative is expected to strengthen digital inclusion, reduce payment delays, and protect beneficiaries from fraud, marking another step forward in Pakistan’s social welfare system.
