The FKS Group has successfully acquired the seventh team of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) for Rs. 1.75 billion (Rs. 175 crore) during the franchise auction held at the Jinnah Convention Centre, Islamabad.
The auction is part of the process to induct two new teams into the Pakistan Super League, marking a major expansion of the tournament. Following the successful bid, the FKS Group selected Hyderabad as the home city for their franchise.

The auction ceremony was attended by Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi and PSL Chief Executive Officer, while legendary former cricketer Wasim Akram moderated the bidding process.
At the start of the event, PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi announced prize money awards for recent international achievements. The Rising Stars Asia Cup–winning team was awarded Rs. 90 million, while the Hong Kong Sixes champions received a cash prize of Rs. 18.5 million.
PSL Expansion Gains Momentum
The addition of new franchises reflects the growing commercial strength and global appeal of the PSL. With Hyderabad now entering the league, the expansion is expected to boost regional representation, fan engagement, and investment in Pakistan’s cricket ecosystem.
