Purpose Behind the Holidays

Officials say the additional holidays are aimed at making Basant celebrations safer and more memorable. With fewer vehicles on the roads, including motorcycles, traffic congestion will reduce, allowing citizens to enjoy the festival with more convenience and security.

Basant Dates and Festivities

This year, Basant is scheduled from 6th to 8th February, and the extended holidays will enable residents to fully participate in kite flying, cultural activities, and family gatherings without rushing.

Lahore’s skies are expected to fill with colorful kites, marking the arrival of spring, while city authorities aim to ensure safety and smooth management throughout the festival.
