For double-shift schools, the morning shift will run from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM, while the afternoon shift will be held from 2:15 PM to 4:45 PM.

Mandatory Teacher Activities

The notification also makes it mandatory for teachers to participate in curriculum preparation, training programs, and Continuous Professional Development (CPD) from Monday to Thursday. In addition, attendance on alternate Saturdays has been declared compulsory for teachers to further improve teaching standards and academic outcomes.

Objective of Revised Timings

Officials stated that the revised schedule aims to enhance students’ academic performance while providing teachers with additional opportunities for training and preparation. The department has urged both teachers and students to strictly follow the new timetable to ensure better educational quality.

No Extension in Winter Vacations

Meanwhile, Punjab Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat has dismissed rumors regarding any further extension in winter vacations. He confirmed that all public and private schools will reopen on January 19 as scheduled.

The minister explained that winter holidays began on December 20, giving students a total of 30 days off. After reviewing weather forecasts and temperature data in coordination with the Environment Department and PDMA, the government decided against extending the holidays.
